Check out the links on the right side of this page under Bellydance Resources. These are places where you can buy belly dance costumes. There are tribal ones in there, too. Take a look at them for some ideas.

Well American Tribal Style bellydance started in San Fransisco, California. It’s start is credited mostly to Carolena Nericcio (sp?) who founded FatChance Bellydance (http://www.fcbd.com). Here is a specific link to their site where they talk about what it is and how it got started:
    http://www.fcbd.com/about/
If your interested in this type of costuming you should check out their catalog pages here is their costuming section of the catalog:
    http://www.fcbd.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=89&zenid=fc84b9792e9bcd7ed6694ec8cce819d0
You can look at them for examples and then make your own. There are tons of on-line patterns and instructions on creating cholis and tassel belts and other costuming elements so once you find out what costuming elements your interested in you can simply search online for those types of patterns.
